About Dr. Horowitz
Dr. Andrew Horowitz, a respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon, is devoted to enhancing smiles and oral health with precision and compassion, addressing the diverse needs of patients of all ages and backgrounds. A native of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Dr. Horowitz has been an integral part of the New York metropolitan area since 2000. His journey into the field of oral surgery began at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with honors, laying the foundation for his career in dentistry.
Motivated by his passion for dentistry and medicine, he pursued further education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, graduating in the top 10 of his class with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). His performance led to his induction into prestigious honor societies, including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and the Mathew Cryer Honor Society. Driven by his commitment to advancing the field, Dr. Horowitz then pursued a combined MD/Oral and Maxillofacial Residency program at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Mount Sinai Hospital. His exceptional academic achievements secured him advanced standing, culminating in the attainment of a Doctorate of Medicine (MD). During his tenure at Mount Sinai, he completed a rigorous General Surgery internship and a comprehensive residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Horowitz's distinction lies in his dual expertise, holding both dental and medical degrees, a rarity among Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Westchester County. He is one of the first oral surgeons to be named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and he continues to demonstrate his commitment to excellence as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as a member of esteemed dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery organizations, such as the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Scarsdale Dental Society, White Plains Dental Forum, and 9th District Dental Association.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Horowitz is actively involved in academia and research, with a focus on utilizing technology to advance implant surgery. His contributions to the field include a highly sought-after program, “The Power of 3D "Virtual" Implant Surgery” and noted publications “Computer Guided Dental Implant Treatment for Complete Arch Restoration” and “Minimally Invasive Implant Surgery using Computer Guided Technology.” As the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at White Plains Hospital Center, Dr. Horowitz demonstrates exemplary leadership, leveraging his expertise to provide exceptional care to his patients. His dedication to education is also evident through his prior role as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
Today, Dr. Horowitz serves as a partner at New York Oral, Maxillofacial, and Implant Surgery, where he has practiced for over 15 years. His focus on complex dental implant cases and major bone grafting procedures exemplifies his commitment to delivering the highest standard of care. With expertise in immediate implant placement, the “All on 4” technique, and "Teeth in a Day", Dr. Horowitz has positively impacted the lives of countless patients. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Horowitz enjoys skiing and tennis and resides in Chappaqua with his two children.
Dr. Horowitz remains dedicated to advancing his field and looks forward to continuing to positively impact his patients' well-being for many years to come.
