About Dr. Oks
Dr. Brandon Andrew Oks, DDS, MD, a highly-skilled and extensively trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon, developed a passion for dentistry at a young age. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Oks was immersed in the dental field early on, with his father working as a dental technician. Throughout his formative years, he spent countless hours in his father’s lab, reinforcing his interest in the field. His enthusiasm grew even more at 16 after undergoing wisdom teeth extraction. Reflecting on this experience, he recalls, “Even before the anesthesia wore off, I was trying to figure out how I could shadow residents at the hospital clinic where I had the procedure done.”
Dr. Oks embarked on his professional journey by earning his DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2018. He then completed a rigorous 6-year dual degree, culminating in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at NYU College of Dentistry and obtaining his medical degree in 2022 from NYU Grossman School of Medicine. During his training, Dr. Oks had the privilege of learning from top surgeons, including Dr. Gary Orentlicher, who imparted invaluable dental implant techniques that continue to shape his career.
Dr. Oks is distinguished by his unwavering commitment to providing compassionate and personalized care to each patient. He prioritizes ensuring patients feel heard and understood from the initial consultation through post-operative care, acknowledging the unease that can accompany visits to the doctor.
His professional interests encompass a wide range of dentoalveolar surgery, from single and complex extractions to pre-prosthetic procedures, bone and soft tissue augmentations, dental implants, and minor pathology. Dr. Oks’ comprehensive training in full-scope oral surgery has honed his skills, enabling him to excel in these specialized areas.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Oks enjoys quality time with his family, including his wife, daughter, and two King Charles Cavaliers. He finds rejuvenation and inspiration in activities such as music, cycling, water sports, hiking, camping, and snowboarding.
