Dental Implants White Plains
Are you a potential White Plains dental implants patient? Call our office today.
Dental implants are greatly adding to patients’ quality of life and changing the way people live daily. They are designed to provide a foundation for the replacement of natural teeth that have been prematurely lost and to look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything, knowing that their teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. Patients with dental implants can smile, function, and go about their daily lives with confidence.
At New York Oral, Maxillofacial, and Implant Surgery, our doctors specialize in serving White Plains with dental implants. They are at the forefront of new technologies for the placement of minimally invasive dental implants and CT guided dental implant placement for over 15 years. We are one of the only Westchester dental implant and oral surgery practices to routinely use new technologies to place dental implants. When used for the placement of dental implants, these technologies may allow the patient to function immediately with non-removable natural feeling and looking teeth. Minimally invasive dental implant technologies, such as Teeth in an Hour™, have been been used in our Westchester dental implant practice since the inception of the technology in 2005. Since that time, our doctors have been extensively involved in teaching the technology nationally to other doctors.

Extraction of Wisdom Teeth White Plains
Wisdom Teeth Presentation
To provide you with a better understanding of wisdom teeth, we have provided the following multimedia presentation. Many common questions pertaining to wisdom teeth are discussed.
The average mouth is made to hold only 28 teeth. It can be painful when 32 teeth try to fit in a mouth that holds only 28 teeth. These four other teeth are your Third Molars, also known as “wisdom teeth.”
Why Should I Remove My Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly and the gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally happen. The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when they are prevented from properly erupting within the mouth. They may grow sideways, partially emerge from the gum and even remain trapped beneath the gum and bone. Impacted teeth can take many positions in the bone as they attempt to find a pathway that will allow them to erupt successfully.
These poorly positioned impacted teeth can cause many problems. When they are partially erupted, the opening around the tooth allows bacteria to grow and will eventually cause an infection. The result: swelling, stiffness, pain and illness. Early removal is recommended to avoid such future problems and to decrease the surgical risk involved with the procedure.

Orthognathic Surgery White Plains
Orthognathic surgery is needed when jaws don’t meet correctly and/or teeth don’t seem to fit with jaws. Teeth are first straightened with orthodontics and then corrective jaw surgery repositions the misaligned jaw(s). This not only improves facial appearance, but also ensures that teeth meet correctly and function properly.

Technology and Orthognathic Surgery
Drs. Orentlicher and Horowitz use modern techniques to evaluate and treatment plan your individual case. Using comprehensive facial radiographs, we can show you how your bite will be improved and even give you an idea of how you’ll look after surgery. This helps you understand the surgical process and the extent of the treatment prescribed. Our goal is to help you understand the benefits of orthognathic surgery.
If you are a candidate for Corrective Jaw Surgery, Drs. Orentlicher and Horowitz will work closely with your dentist and orthodontist during your treatment. The actual surgery can move your teeth and jaws into a new position that results in a more attractive, functional and healthy dental-facial relationship.
Drs. Orentlicher and Horowitz have many years of experience in treating patients requiring this type of corrective surgery. They are well published, nationally known clinicians and lecturers on the subject of Orthognathic Surgery.
